Week 4- #pausepromptpraise #buddyclass

This week for reading we introduced the children

to the Pause, Prompt and praise program.  This

program is to help the target group accelerate their

learning.  The tutors are helping with reading mileage and 

strategies to work out unknown words.

This week we hosted our lovely buddy class Aroha 4.

This week we did some art.  Whakapono 19 children were

teaching their buddies.   What new colours could they get

if they blended 2 different colours together.

This week Whakapono 19 learnt

Maths-  Using Arrays to solve Multiplications 

Children are let to explore how solve 4 x 3=

The children were introduce to the vocabulary of multiplication, columns, rows, repeated addition, skip counting.

Week 2- Buddy class, performance and maths

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers 

out there.

This week Whakapono 19 had their buddy time.

For buddy time we helped with Aroha 4's

We also helped them with their Mothers Day card

We have been lucky this week to have 

another awesome performance.  This week 

we had 'INSPIRE ME' performance 

It actually had a great message for our children.

For maths this week we were learning about measurement.   This weeks we had focused  on estimating item's using cm's and mm's. 

The children went outside to find items no bigger 

than 30cms.  The children had no rulers or measuring devices.

Once the children came back in they had to measure the item to get the actual measurement.

They were to use these items to make other estimates in the class.
